AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized release, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where rumors of forbidden practices and monstrous transformations reverberate through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.
